On November 1st, 2024, I lost my best friend, Violet Patterson, whom you may know as "ProxyZkraper", the founder of this site. She was a brilliant soul whose light shone brightly in this dark world. Violet was truly passionate about digital security, and deeply committed to protecting freedom online. She believed that privacy was a right, and fought tirelessly against censorship, but above all she was a kind-hearted friend, loving daughter, and caring sister. I will never forget the day she shared her idea with me... Her idea to create this site, to share her knowledge and ideals with whoever may see it. It was a moment I'll never forget, and I hope to carry her passion for privacy, security, and activism forward in everything I do from here on out. Unfortunately sometimes, even the strongest are tested beyond what they can handle. Violet faced her own inner battles... struggles with mental health, loneliness, isolation, and the troubles that come with being an outcast. As much as she fought, eventually the darkness won, and on that day, she made the decision to end her life. Her last words to me were short and concise, but still shake me to my core whenever I think of them... "I love you, Layla." I will always carry that love in my heart... In her honor, I've been entrusted with this site and will continue to keep it alive as a testament to her spirit, her work, and her wish to make the world a better place. If there is one thing that I want people to understand from Violet's story, it is that you are never alone. There is always someone who understands, someone who can help. No one should ever feel that they have to suffer in silence. If you're struggling, please reach out to someone, or even me, because we care, and I don't want to see anyone end up like my best friend. Rest in peace, Violet. You were my best friend, my biggest inspiration, and my hero. I'll miss you every single day, but I will carry you with me, always.
